How to log parcels - overview video

Note: There are many ways of logging parcels on Parcel Tracker:

- Scan parcel labels either using the two-step or one-step scanning mode.
- Log parcels manually by searching for the recipient either using the search bar of the Notify screen or the search bar/Recipients icon of the parcel scanning screen & typing the barcode.
- Scan the recipient's name & manually type the barcode.
- Manually search for the recipient & scan the barcode.

Web platform

On our web platform, you can only log parcels manually by typing the recipient's name (or room number), and then the parcel's barcode:

In your Parcel Tracker account, click Deliveries in the main navigation bar.
Click the Log New Delivery button > start typing recipient's name > select recipient.
Enter the barcode > click Add > click OK.

Note: If you log a parcel on our web platform, it will not have any images in the Deliveries section or Search History because Parcel Tracker captures images while scanning the labels.

Android app

The two-step scanning mode

To log parcels by scanning labels using the two-step scanning mode on Android devices:

Click Notify > click Scan Parcel.
Hold down the blue button to scan the recipient's name.
Hold down the blue button to scan the barcode.
Click Notify.
Click the drop-down arrow for more info.
Click Notify Recipient.

Note: You can scan multiple parcels of multiple recipients and notify everyone at once.

To log parcels manually using the search bar of the Notify screen on Android devices:

Click Notify > click on the search bar.
Start typing the recipient's name/room number.
Click the search icon > select recipient.
Click on Parcel barcode or label.
Enter the barcode.
Click the checkpoint icon.
Click Notify.
Click Notify Recipient.

Note: You can also scan the barcode instead of manually typing it.

To log parcels manually using the search bar of the parcel scanning screen on Android devices:

Click Notify > click Scan Parcel.
Click on the search bar.
Start typing the recipient's name/room number.
Select recipient.
Hold down the blue button to scan the barcode.
Click Notify.
Click Notify Recipient.

If the barcode is too blurry or faded on the parcel's label but the recipient's name doesn't have any issues, you can log the parcel by scanning the recipient's name, and then manually typing the barcode:

Click Notify > click Scan Parcel.
Hold down the blue button to scan the name.
Click on Parcel barcode or label.
Enter the barcode.
Click the checkpoint icon.
Click Notify.
Click Notify Recipient.

Manually search for the recipient & scan the barcode

If the recipient's name is too blurry or faded on the parcel's label but the barcode doesn't have any issues, you can log the parcel by manually searching for the recipient, and then scanning the barcode:

Click Notify > click Scan Parcel.
Click on the search bar.
Start typing the recipient's name/room number.
Select recipient.
Hold down the blue button to scan the barcode.
Click Notify.
Click Notify Recipient.

Note: The two-step scan mode is the default setting on Parcel Tracker's app but you can switch between scan modes anytime in the Settings.

To log parcels by scanning labels using the one-step scanning mode on Android devices:

Click Notify > click Scan Parcel.
Hold down the blue button to scan the label.
Click Notify.
Click Notify Recipient.

Note: No matter which scan mode you select, Parcel Tracker will capture the images of the scanned parcels. Manually logged parcels won't have images. You can see the images anytime in

Deliveries or

Search History.

iOS app

Click Notify.
Click the Scan Parcel button.
Hold down the blue button to scan the recipient's name.
Hold down the blue button to scan the barcode.
Click Notify > Click Notify again.

- Click Notify > click on the search bar.
- Start typing the recipient's name/room number.
- Select recipient.

- Click Notify > Click Notify again.

To log parcels manually using the Recipients icon of the parcel scanning screen on iOS devices:

Click Notify > the Scan Parcel button.
Click on the Recipients icon.
Click on the search bar.
Start typing the recipient's name/room number.
Select recipient.
Click on Manual barcode entry.
Enter the barcode.
Click Ok.
Click Notify > Click Notify again.

Click the Scan Parcel button.
Hold down the blue button to scan the recipient's name.
Click on Manual barcode entry.
Enter the barcode.
Click Ok.
Click Notify > Click Notify again.
