What are Outbound Parcels?
Parcel Tracker's outbound parcels feature lets you easily record all the parcels and mail leaving your site. You can log outbound parcels on both our Web Platform and our Mobile Application.
You will need to turn on the outbound parcels feature through the settings of your Parcel Tracker account before you can start logging them. To learn more about how to enable this feature, you can view our setup guide here.
How to Log Outbound Parcels on the Web Platform
Preparing and Logging the Parcel
Follow these steps to initially log an outbound parcel into the system before the courier arrives:
In your Parcel Tracker account, click
Parcelsin the main navigation bar, then selectOutbound.Click the
+ Add Parcelbutton.Enter the details of the parcel. You can select the Sender, Recipient, Address, Dimensions, Identifier, Courier, Tracking Number, and Notes. Once you are done entering the details, click
Add Parcelto log the parcel.
Checking Out Parcels to the Courier
When the courier arrives to pick up the package, follow these steps to complete the handoff:
On the
Outboundparcels screen (accessed in step 1 above), select the specific parcel to be picked up by the courier and clickOpen.Click on
Check-out Parcel.Fill in the
Courier Call Signand ask the courier for their signature. ClickCollectto finalize the process and record the dispatch.
How to Log Outbound Parcels on the Mobile App
Preparing and Logging the Parcel
Follow these steps to initially log an outbound parcel using your mobile device:
On the mobile app, tap on
Outbound, then selectLog Parcel.Select the Sender.
Take a picture of the parcel.
Fill in the details of the parcel such as its identifier, tracking number, courier, and notes, then tap
Add Parcel.Tap on the
pencilicon to identify the recipient of the outbound parcel.Once you are done, review the information and tap
Log Parcelsto finalize.
Checking Out Parcels to the Courier
When the courier arrives to pick up the package, follow these steps to complete the handoff on your phone:
On the mobile app, tap on
Outbound, but this time selectCourier Handoff.Select the Courier.
Select the correct parcel to be collected and tap
Check-out Selected.Fill in the courier call sign and ask for their signature, then tap
Check-out Parcelsto finalize the dispatch.
